I had choice and being scarred by last week I opted for as many ball playing runners as possible, unfortunately turns out I’m not Harvey!

We took the lead after looking fairly comfortable in the opening quarter of the match. A very tidy finish from Gary W after taking it down majestically. Unfortunately we couldn’t capitalise on the early lead and Brens team took advantage. First goal I believe was from a Dave O throw in and Tom B flicked it in! 1-1.

Not sure when the next two goals occurred but I do know they were both deflections from good initial play. Gary P setting up Chris B & Dave O setting up Tom B. 3-1.

We tried to get back into the game but we couldn’t quite recreate some of the passages of play from the week prior, and on a personal note I had possibly the worst performance of my short plus30 career. Considered taking the -2 as punishment and not compiling this match report but I’ve since seen sense!

Final goal of the game came from a textbook Bren long throw, perfectly weighted to Johnny who turned Joe and fired a rocket top bins. Take a bow. 4-1, game set and match.

Man of the match was between Ben & Tom B, but I’ve gone with Ben. He defended expertly as always, but the way he helped Aiden settle, guiding him in only his second game against blokes I thought was fantastic and very fitting of the plus30 ethos!
