With Harvey announcing this would be his last game for a while due to going under the knife, it is nice to see he takes no prisoners, and duly dispatched me out of the captains cup, even though he will unlikely go any further himself.
Good luck with the op Harvey.
Back to the game, and a 6 a side match up once again. Thought the teams were quite evenly matched, as few chances were created in the opening quarter, one notable rocket from Jonny trying to break another goal smashed the post, and went out to safety.
Blake in goal, breaking all the rules, kicking out, picking up back passed etc should have been a warning sign, as he was the busier of the two goalkeepers. Whites were soon 1-0 up, don’t care who scored.
Gary W equalised soon after 1-1
Yellows soon started to struggle, giving the ball away in dangerous areas, and struggling to cope with the marauding Pete, and speedy mike, who is claiming a record 7 assists (need to check VAR!)
I think we were soon about 4-1 down – again, don’t know/care who scored.
We did rally, and pulled one or two back, through Tom and Cush, to make a game of it, but just couldn’t keep up with the whites. In search of an equaliser, we were left exposed, and conceded a couple more.
Always chasing the game, and just couldn’t live with the pace in the opposition.
Good luck to whoever takes Harvey’s place in the next round ;)
